Road accident claim 3 lives

Three youths on a motorcycle were killed on the spot in an accident that took place near Kandari village in Karjan taluka on the National Highway this afternoon. The deceased was said to be identified as residents of Padra taluka. Karjan police reached the spot and are further investigating the incident after it was reported to them.

As per available details, the three youths were going on a motorcycle passing from Kandari village in Karjan taluka when some unknown vehicle knocked them. All the three hit the road hard and died on the spot while no damage was done to that motorcycle.

The Karjan police team rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported to them and sent the bodies for postmortem. Police found a mobile phone in the deceased’s pocket and tried to call the families based on the numbers and motorcycle registration number.

A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the three youths who died in the accident were residents of Padra taluka. All of them were riding on the same motorcycle and none of them was wearing a helmet.

The incident also disrupted traffic on the highway for some time. A crowd gathered at the spot. The Karjan police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated proceedings about the identities of the youths and details of where they were going. Currently, the police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them to Karjan Government Hospital for postmortem.
