Vadodara was once, the Sanskarinagri but unfortunately, it is turning into a city of temporary hoardings. Their establishment at the prominent crossroads, lanes and even at the historic buildings has caused a lot of menace on the roads by taking away its charm.
Citizens are angry with such hoardings as they’re being set up at every nooks and corner of the city. A lot of such temporary hoardings are creating chaos and distraction for the passing by onlookers with a major concern being its accumulation at tiniest of the places.
In 2015, Gujarat High Court passed the resolution that no organisation from now on would be allowed to erect/stick temporary hoardings at prominent public places including anywhere around historical places.
Even after its passed resolution, none of them abided by the rule. Due to lack of its implementation, many of such hoardings mushroomed all over the city.
There was no record of whether they were being put with or without the permission of the Corporation. It’s still ambiguous whether the civic body gained any financial commision out of it.
A new resolution is now being passed by the VMSS regarding the same that anyone who is seen putting up the hoardings they’d be fined with Rs5000. If the party continues to do so even after the fine, the printer, the individual and the owner would be all charged with a legal case against them.
