RTO will reopen with strict rules

The RTO office has been closed for the last two months due to the Coronavirus epidemic. Its offices in Gujarat including Vadodara will resume from 4th June 2020. It will be mandatory for everyone to follow the rules.

According to our sources, the RTO office of Vadodara has been sanitized thrice already and the staff and workers have been provided with sanitizers, re-usable masks and hand gloves too. Provision for sanitizers will be made at entry gates too. 95% of the RTO services have started to issue appointments to the applicants. Few important things to remember: –

  • Only those applicants who have appointments will be allowed to enter the RTO, unlike before.
  • During lockdown 1.0, circles had been marked to ensure social distancing. Arrangements will be made in a way that very few people will enter the office which will ensure lesser movement.
  • To avoid crowds, only 125 applicants will get an appointment to avail vehicular-related services at RTO, which will be divided into slots. In each slot, only 12-15 people will be allowed to enter. The slot time will be written on the gate for the convenience of the people.
  • Make sure you reach before your allotted time, an entry will be given 15 minutes prior to your slot.
  • For license-related work, 150 appointments will be accepted and for driving test 225 appointments will be accepted. On Saturday and Sunday to the RTO will be operating for driving tests only.
  • For the renewal of a license, there’s no need to go to the RTO office and if you do, you will need to seek an appointment first.
  • People who missed out on their appointment due to the Coronavirus-pandemic, they will have to issue an appointment again.
  • Those whose driving license expired on 21st March 2020 and after, the validity has been increased to two months. From 21-03-2020 to 31-07-2020 people will be able to take the driving test till 31-07-2020 for which no additional fee has to be paid by the applicant.
  • ITI will be handling the learning license procedure. Appointments will not be available in cities which fall under containment zones.
