Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park may be Adani Sports Line’s newest bid to unearth Gujarat’s sporting talents

Ahmedabad boasts of the iconic Sabarmati Riverfront, and now, it has a brand new addition – the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park, managed by Adani Sportsline. This sports park is set to provide the city and the state with top-tier sports infrastructure, designed to foster a culture of sports and promote a healthy lifestyle. Its mission is to unearth the finest sporting talents from Gujarat.

Adani Sportsline secured the rights to manage this sports park through a rigorous bidding process. On September 2nd, the park was officially inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries, including Hon’ble Mayor Kiritbhai Parmar, the Director of Adani Enterprises Pranav Adani, Former Captain of Indian Women’s Cricket team Mithali Raj, AMC ruling party official Arun Singh Rajput; Leader of AMC’s ruling party Bhaskarbhai Bhatt, Mr. Hitesh Barot, Chairman, Standing Committee; Kaushikbhai Jain, MLA; Shri Amitbhai P. Shah, MLA; Surendrabhai Patel, Chairman, SRFDCL Project; Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki, M.P.;  M. Thenarson, Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad; Keshav Verma, IAS (Rtd.), Chairman, SRFDCL; Smt. Gitaben Patel, Dy. Mayor; and Rajeshkumar Dave, Chairman, Recreation Cultural and Heritage Committee.

The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park is open to all and offers a multitude of facilities, including a jogging track, gymnasium, children’s play areas, several cricket pitches, and courts for, basketball, volleyball, and tennis. Additionally, there’s a skating rink equipped with skateboards for visitors and learners alike. The park aims to boost sports participation by providing accessible opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds through slot bookings for various games.

Several academies within the park will introduce children aged 5 to 7 to different sports. These young talents will then have the opportunity to choose their preferred sport, complete with scientific training methods tailored to their abilities, interests, and aptitudes, with a strong focus on strength and conditioning. This approach is designed to identify and nurture sporting talent within the city and state, enabling them to progress into more specialized programs.

Mithali Raj commended the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park as a fantastic initiative, emphasizing the critical role such endeavors play in shaping India’s sporting future.
