Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan today organized a hygiene campaign program in the Chhani area including Election Ward No. 1. The event was attended by Councilor of Ward No. 1 and Leader of Opposition Ami Rawat, Chhani residents, Councilor Harish Patel, Jaha Desai as well as Safai Sevaks and ward officials. Oaths of cleanliness were taken by the Sevaks in presence of councilors and officials.
Harish Patel, a Congress Councilor and a resident of Chhani village threatened the woman Safai Sevak to clean properly or else he will stop the government benefits they get. It escalated the matter and angered the Safai sevaks.
As the situation escalated, the Councilor returned to the spot along with Opposition leader and Ward Councilor Ami Ravat and she controlled the situation. Meanwhile, Councilor Harish Patel apologized to the Safai Sevaks and the matter came to an end.
