She Team Mobile App and Traffic Champ campaign launched by Vadodara Police

To make the city a safer place to live especially for women and senior citizens, Vadodara Police is taking new innovative initiatives. It is also spreading awareness in people regarding traffic rules, road safety, etc.

Minister of State for home, Harsh Sanghavi launched the She Team Mobile Application dedicated to women and senior citizens on Sunday during his visit to Vadodara. He also flagged off the Traffic Champ Campaign which aims to spread awareness in people regarding traffic rules, road safety, and be a champ by saving their own lives and others as well.

“The mobile application works on three important points, emergency button, track my route, and senior citizens. The emergency button at the center of the homepage gives the women a helping hand in times of emergency. On touch, their location will be shared and tracked by the She team. A notification is also received by PI, ACP, DCP, and control room at the same time. The team reached the place and take action as per legal proceedings. The three categories – Resolve, pending and fake will ensure the status of the complaint. Track My Route is for safe traveling helping hand for women and girls. The user shares their location from starting point to the destination and on reaching safely a notification will be received. The app also works for senior citizens as on receiving any message our teams reached them with the help, “said Nodal officer She Team and ACP traffic Amita Vanani.

She also added that one can also report through pictures and details about suspicious activities and their identities will not be disclosed. Chat board, auto mode, and many other facilities will be introduced in this application.

Traffic Champ campaign is to involve the citizens in making the city a safe place to drive. “We formed traffic teams for this campaign and will involve citizens to get their suggestions in resolving traffic issues. Under this campaign, we will felicitate the people observing traffic rules in public to motivate others. Taking one step further we will go to the societies and felicitate before all to motivate the society as a whole to observe traffic rules. Announce the name of the persons follow traffic rules on radio and motivate them and others, teach the importance of traffic rules to the people not following the rules, traffic jingles, awareness campaigns on social media and different unique programs is on the card during the whole year of the campaign, ” said Vanani.
