Her story is not just about pursuing a passion; it’s a tale of resilience, overcoming adversity, and carrying forward her late father’s unfulfilled aspirations.
A Dream Fueled by Tragedy
At the tender age of 10, Harita faced a profound tragedy with the loss of her father. Left behind were her mother, a cancer survivor, and a deaf-mute brother. The burden of responsibilities weighed heavily on her young shoulders. To cope with the grief and to honor her father’s dream, she turned to the world of shooting.
“I am fulfilling my late father’s dream,” says Harita. “He wanted me to learn the art of shooting and make a career in this field. After he passed away, I joined shooting at the age of 11, and today, I am making steady progress in my seven-year journey, moving closer to fulfilling my father’s dream. My ultimate goal is to perform consistently and represent my country at the Olympics.”
Harita specializes in the 10-meter pistol event and has been training under the guidance of Ravi Patel, a certified international coach. Her journey to this point has been marked by numerous challenges, but her determination to succeed has never wavered.
A Journey Filled with Struggles

In the 10-meter pistol category, she gradually started winning medals, excelling at district, state, SGFI, open national, and national levels. She also participated in selection trials and clinched medals at the prestigious Khel Mahakumbh.

Mind Over Matter: Training for the Olympics
Shooting is often described as a mental game, and Harita understands the significance of mental and physical preparation. Her training regimen includes daily workouts, meditation, pranayama, and yoga, focusing on both physical stability and mental strength. In shooting, even the slightest muscle imbalance can affect accuracy, making physical fitness a crucial aspect of her journey.
Ravi Patel, her coach, holds international certifications and has played a pivotal role in shaping Harita’s shooting career.
