The Shukarwari Market is famous for selling old or antique goods, discarded items, electrical and electronic items, books, hardware, etc. The market was closed for the last five months and the sellers have no earnings.
They arrived at the bazaar to earn. But the VMC anti-encroachment team along with police and Ward officer of Ward 8 reached there and seized their things which led to heated arguments amongst them. The sellers shouted slogans against the corporation for not helping them in their trying times.
The market is closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The team explained it to the traders of the market about the importance of social distancing which will not be possible if the market stays open. Goods which were seized from the market was sent to Atalara store.
