Under the provisions of CM Setu, the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the State Government hired nine specialists specializing in various diseases for the Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara. Three of these doctors have already started serving.
Responding to this, Medical Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Krishna Iyer said that patients from needy families coming to Sayaji Hospital will get these super-specialty services and the benefit of their knowledge and experience will be available to the postgraduate doctors here, and more new services will be available.
It may be recalled that under the above scheme, specialist visiting doctors specializing in various diseases are appointed on a contract basis in large government hospitals affiliated with the medical colleges of the state. For services of three hours daily, Rs. 900 remuneration is paid to them and they provide services on the appointed day.
Out of the nine appointed under this special arrangement, gastroenterologist Dr. Dhawal Dave, Cardiologist Dr. Pawan Dave and Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Kashyap Pandya joined duty. In addition, the appointments also include neurologists, hemato oncologists, vitreoretinal surgeons, pediatricians, and cardiologists.
