Students of New Era declared winners in the nationwide Maths Premiere Contest 

Nizampura’s New Era Senior Secondary has been offering students the best of quality in their maths education, and also has been exposing students to fun and creative digital methods of learning. The school’s young minds were recently awarded the Zonal and National winners in a recently held Maths Premier League. Through extensive efforts in preparing for this national level contest with the help and mentorship of their teachers, the New Eraites managed to bring the prestigious A.K. Ramanujam trophy home. The school continues to provide the most extensive and creative platforms for which not only give students an extra exposure, but which allows them to go the extra mile in their academic efforts.

Maths Premier League is an exclusive national-level competition organized by ‘Countingwell’ for middle-school students across the country. The competition runs for a span of 5 weeks during which multiple students from various schools take part in a series of maths activities, tasks, and tests to showcase their creative mathematical abilities. New Era Senior Secondary School won the west zone finals as well as the national finals this year. The winners in each of the 7 zonal school categories – East, West, South, North, North East, Central, and International – received a cash prize of Rs. 70,000. The platform successfully provided the student with an opportunity to gain the most extensive and enriching knowledge in maths.

Class seven and eight students of New Era excelled in all the categories of the contest, outshining all the nationwide participants and emerging as the top scorers . A total of 164 students took part in the competition that lasted for over a month. The school’s teachers committed their efforts towards preparing and exposing the students to the much needed mathematical knowledge to excel in this competition. This maths premier is one amongst the many contests and competitions which have been designed to provide the students with the much needed co-curricular training and exposure to enhance their learning experience. To seal this achievement, the counting well officials visited the school to officially award the schools winners and congratulate them on their efforts.

New Era has maintained an effective policy on co-curricular and cultural development as well as exposure which clearly puts focus along with emphasis on the importance of overall development of the students. The school has been giving the students knowledge, and also exposing them to platforms for practical development and training. “I am truly proud of the achievement of our students and as New Era, we will continue exposing our students to such platforms which allows them to practice what they learn,” said the school’s principal, Ms. Leena Nair.
