A Joint Enforcement Team (JET) was formed by the municipality and police 11 days ago. Due to the surge in cases and citizens taking that lightly, the team has ensured that they make people follow rules. A fine of a total of Rs. 31,200 were collected so far for not wearing masks and not maintaining social distance.
Under the leadership of Ms. Shalini Agarwal, Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, and Dr. Samsher Singh, Police Commissioner of Vadodara, the JET team was formed to take punitive actions against the citizens flouting the COVID-19 protocols. The team will make sure that citizens present in the city’s markets, malls, multiplexes, party plots, banquet halls, marriage halls, and public places will be charged for not following the rules.
