VMSS has come up with a plan to temporarily solve the waterlogging issue near Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The plan is to divert the water towards the Vishwamitri river through a drain passing from under the Lalbaug bridge. The societies near Kashi Vishwanath temple lake witness heavy waterlogging and crocodile problems every year in the monsoon. Finally, after repeated representations, the administration has come up with a temporary solution.
On Tuesday Mayor Keyur Rokadia, standing Committee Chairman Dr. Hitendra Patel, Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Ward no. 13 Councilors, and other officials visited the area and evaluated the ongoing work and gave necessary instructions to make sure that the water gets diverted as quickly as possible from that area.
Mayor Keyur Rokadia stated, “For years the area is witnessing the problem of waterlogging as well as crocodile menace during monsoon. This year we plan to implement a temporary solution where the water will be diverted towards the Vishwamitri river through the drain passing from under Lalbaug bridge adjacent to palace ground. Before a permanent solution, this is our effort to at least ensure the quick release of water from the area which gives some respite to the citizens.”
VMSS Commissioner Shalini Agarwal said, “The administration is already working on a permanent solution in the area, and work is already carried out by the teams. They will ensure quick resolution of such problems wherever prevail in the city.”
