Thala’s 200 record tonight

The fabulous Chennai Super Kings (CSK) commander MS Dhoni is on the cusp of rewriting history in tonight’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against former champions Rajasthan Royals (RR). Four- time titleholders Chennai will welcome 2008 winners Rajasthan in 17^th match of this season to be held in the Chidambaram Stadium. Dhoni’s brigade have arrived at their Chepauk fortress after winning over Mumbai Indians (MI).

Today, Dhoni is going to etch his name in the history books of IPL. He is set to record his 200^th appearance as the leader of the yellow brigade. Not to forget that he is also the most capped player in the history of IPL. He will become the first player to lead a franchise in 200 matches.

Thala is featured in 213 matches as captain at the IPL trading with CSK and Rising Pune Supergiants. Surprisingly, he also has a winning chance of 58.96% in 213 matches as captain. He has played over 236 matches scoring 5004 runs in 237 IPL matches.

Dhoni is a Legend of Indian Cricket

The all- rounder Ravindra Jadeja spoke to a few journalists ahead of today’s IPL match giving Dhoni a tag of ‘legend’. “What can I say? He is a legend not of just CSK, but the Indian cricket team. I wish him all the best and hope we celebrate his 200^th match as a captain today by winning the game,” shares Jadeja.

Dhoni is the seventh player to hit over 5000 runs in IPL. He is joined by yet another league of master batsmen Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Warner, Rohit Sharma, Raina and AB de Villiers. He is 57 runs short of breaking another record of scoring 1500 runs at Chepauk.

With the memorable victory over Rohit Sharma’s gang, CSK secured the fifth spot in IPL 2023 points table. They have won two matches till now while being defeated in the first opening match against Gujarat Titans (GT). CSK’s opponents RR can level with table toppers Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with a win over the hosts today.
