“JAI SHRI RAM!”
In the heart of Surat’s extremely vibrant textile market, a skilled businessman, Kailash Hakim, has woven two extraordinary sarees. Placid the saree in context: as the nation reverberates with the spirit of Ramji following the construction of the grand Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, these sarees stand as a unique tribute to Lord Ram and carry blessings for PM Modi and UP CM Yogiji.
These sarees speak volumes…of religious prowess…?
Kailash Hakim’s artistic grandeur is evident in the meticulous details of these special sarees. One of them boasts the repetition of “Ram Ram” a staggering 2008 times in FOUR languages, accompanied by vivid depictions of Lord Ram’s life.
The second digital printed saree is adorned with the divine name written 1008 times and features iconic images such as the Ram Mandir, all divine deities, and political leaders.
The sarees are beyond just mere fabric; they tell a story of blessings interspersed with faith. Intricately woven into the threads are depictions of Lord Ram showering blessings upon both PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath. The garments serve as a symbolic fusion of spirituality and political leadership, reflecting the coexistence of tradition and contemporary governance.
Kailash Hakim, also currently leading the FOSTTA (Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association), an organization of textile traders, expressed his sentiments through these unique creations.
As the entire textile market transforms into a grand celebration of the Ram Mandir consecration, Hakim’s organization has spared no effort in adorning the market with exceptional decor. The organization has even introduced an innovative competition, where textile businessmen have the opportunity to receive awards styled after the grandeur of the Ram Mandir.
Expressing devotion through art
The sarees stand as a powerful medium of expression, conveying the collective feelings of the textile community in Surat. Kailash Hakim’s dedication to portraying the essence of Lord Ram’s divinity, alongside political leaders contributing to the temple’s realization, is a testament to the unity of diverse aspects of Indian culture.
Among the looms and the vibrant hues of Surat’s textile market, Kailash Hakim’s ‘Ram sarees’ emerge as a blend of tradition and contemporary reverence. As the nation witnesses the historic event of the consecration of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, these sarees encapsulate the shared spirit of devotion and celebration, woven into every intricate detail.
