Indian food is known for being ‘heavy’, ‘oily’, and ‘spicy’, especially to Non-Indian people. This Indian Restaurant in NYC proves it to be wrong.
Ambo, an Indian restaurant located in NYC gives Indian cuisine a new touch, a new meaning. This spot is owned by three Barodians, Karna Deshmukh, Deep Patel, and Sagar Patel, who are former Vidyani students whose journey of brotherhood started from bench partners and culminated in business partners. They strive to provide food to locals living in the U.S. that resembles India’s culture through its nutritive variations available in Indian food.
May it be a student or a working professional, majority of people rush outside to get food during their lunch break in big cities like NYC and it is almost impossible to have a full Indian meal without getting their hands greasy or feel drowsy. Ambo makes it possible to eat Everyday Indian Food with bare-minimum use of oil and plant-based ingredients that do not make you feel drowsy or even induce the urge of wanting to sleep as it contains lots of veggies, proteins, nuts, seeds, beans and fruits, cooked from scratch on-site.
There is no set menu card here as the customers will be given options to customize their own plate or bowl that has everything healthy and fresh in it!
They also serve chai which is not just chai but a chilled comfort drink made using oat milk. This beverage concept is specially made keeping in mind about the people who are allergic to dairy products.
