Three dead and one injured in building collapse in Bavamanpura area of Vadodara

A new under-construction building collapsed late night in the Bavamanpura area of Vadodara. Around six workers were reported being trapped under the debris as the fire brigade reached the spot after declaring it as a major call. The three-floor building is under construction and the workers working in the site live there and were trapped under the debris after it collapsed.

The team rescued three people from the debris and searched for the remaining ones.

The vehicles parked nearby were damaged after the debris fell on them. It is learned that the building was tilted a little bit and was ignored by the builder which lead to this major incident.

The injured are shifted to SSG hospital for treatment and search is on to rescue the remaining. Around 5 emergency vehicles, JCB’s and other machines are engaged in rescue work by the firefighters. The incident shocked the people of the area as police also reached the site to control the situation.

As per sources, three died in the building collapse named Pradip Ramesh Patel, Vakita Kamlesh Patel, and Kamlesh Patel. One Ritu Mansingh Patel was injured in the incident. All are from Banswada Rajasthan.

With cutters, acoustic devices, Aska lights, thermal sensors, and other types of equipment, the team rescued four people from the debris and searched for the remaining ones.

As per fire officer Om Jadeja, the building was under construction and the purpose of its use is under investigation. Different teams are involved with them like the FSL and other departments collected the samples from the spot for testing.

The construction seems to be of low quality and heavy rains might add to the collapse. The material used in the construction is under investigation. Their first priority is to search for the people trapped under the debris as due to low visibility at night the operation stretched till morning.
