Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to make the country free of Single-Use plastic. Brijesh Sharma, a youth in Europe was impressed with the idea. He quitted his job and started cycling to promote this cause. He has cycled 23,000 km to spread awareness in people to not use plastic and turn towards organic farming. He is presently cycling in Gujarat.
On 17th September 2019, he started this mission in Europe to spread awareness in people about the effects of Single-use plastic and the benefits of organic farming. To engage the Indian citizens, he started cycling under the ‘Single-Use Plastic’ campaign and covered seven states to date. On this tour, he connected with around 22 lakhs students and made them aware of this cause.
Brijesh said that during his travel he interacted with people especially villagers and made them aware of single-use plastic and also about organic farming. He also connected with school children regarding his campaign and interacted with them..
He has completed 186 days of cycling, and from here he will move to Surat and in the next month, he will cover the coastal belt of Gujarat. Later, he will reach Mumbai and then will head towards South India for his campaign.
