A meeting of the Task Force Committee was held at Vadodara under the Chairmanship of Collector Shalini Agarwal under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign. In order to maximize the work for the health and education of children under the scheme, the Collector instructed to create appropriate programs and stories covering the effective and encouraging message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and display them through social media.
She urged to plan for creating a conducive environment for girls to pursue higher education and keep the drop out rate among them to a minimum. The concerned officers were asked to coordinate and make and design kits and bags featuring ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ for the purpose of publicity of the campaign. She also suggested the theme to include daughter greetings, hygiene kits, guda-gudi boards, and charts showing the son-daughter birth rate.
In the year 2020-21, awareness programs are being organized with the help of the Radio as well as radio jingles and social media. The awareness programs will be organized with the objective of providing information and guidance on child rights, child marriage law, POCSO as well as PC-PNDT laws and understanding of Good Touch Bad Touch.
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao programs will be made more active in areas with higher drop out ratios. Motivation to study will be provided by giving incentives including certificates, prizes to the top-ranked, and talented children studying in the school and as decided by the committee.
Competitions like Rangoli, Mehndi, and Quiz shall be organized and the winners will be honored. Beneficiaries will be given kits for organizing sanitation and women hygiene programs in collaboration with Asha and Anganwadi workers. Sanitary pad machine, napkin destroyer will be distributed in secondary and higher secondary schools. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao themed T-shirts will be distributed in the areas where fewer children are going to school by preparing charts showing the birth rate of children.
The entire meeting was moderated by District Women and Child Officer- Madhvi Chaudhary. The meeting was attended by District Rural Development Agency Director- Mr. Chaudhary, District Primary Education Officer- Archana Chaudhary, District Child Protection Officer- Amit Vasava, Police Sub Inspector- Mr. Patel, and all the concerned officers and employees.
