US based firm Perennials, which is a big name there in the carpet manufacturing industry, inaugrated its plant at Salvi in Vadodara.
The company had previously bought a piece of land in Salvi in 2018. The goods that are going to be manufactured there are going to be sold across US and Europe, and the company has plans to sell them in India in the future.
The plant is spread over 14,000 sq feet and has 50 employees right now, most of whom are experts at hand weaving carpets. There are expansion plans to have around 350 employees and 60,000 sq feet of space in the upcoming quarter and bring the employee strength to 500 in the next three years.
The company officials said Vadodara was chosen because it has good rail connectivity, is near to Surat, which is a textile hub, and the connectivity to the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor played a big role in choosing Vadodara.
