Vadodara Airport to resume from 25th May

The country is in the fourth phase of the lockdown with more relaxation. Trains and buses are operating to carry the migrant laborers to their respective homes while very few flights were operating to bring stranded Indians back home.

Flights were suspended because of the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country, due to which the country was in lockdown. As per orders received from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, finally the domestic flight operations will resume from 25th May in Vadodara.

The authorities have issued guidelines for air-travel and are currently in the process of implementing various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Government of India and at the same time is preparing and sensitizing the staff regarding each procedure. On 23rd May a mock drill is being planned at Vadodara Airport, which will be attended by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), all stakeholders, and the health team from the Health Department. The Airport Director of Vadodara, Charan Singh will be briefing the media about the timings, flight destinations, and things to keep in mind while traveling by air.

Guidelines:-

  • Passengers are expected to maintain social distance and minimal touching
  • Passenger to certify the status of his/her health through the Aarogya Setu App or self-declaration form
  • Make digital payments
  • Each passenger is limited to just one check-in baggage and one cabin bag
  • Vulnerable people like the elderly, pregnant ladies, passengers with ailments are advised to avoid air travel
  • Ensuring web-check in and get a boarding pass
  • Passengers are expected to download the baggage tag/baggage identification number, print it and fix it on a prominent place of the bag
  • In case the passenger is unable to download the baggage tag, then s/he should mention their PNR number, her/his name on a thick piece of paper and fix it/tag it with a strong string.
  • Before entering the terminal, the passenger should be wearing a mask
  • Passengers should report at the airport 2 hours before the departure of the flight.
  • Passengers to travel in an authorized taxi/personal vehicle following the norms specified by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)
  • During transit to the airport, the passenger should take all precautions to prevent the infection
