Vadodara City Police has carried out a special drive to take effective and result-oriented action against those who do not wear masks. The drive is to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to create awareness among the people.
As a part of which Vadodara City Police formed separate teams of officers and employees in every police station area and carried out intensive checking on public roads. On 23rd December a total of Rs. 10.53 lakhs was collected from 1,053 persons for not wearing masks. Cases were registered and action was taken against 15 persons for violations of curfew and breach of declaration.
To date, cases were registered against 1,04,388 persons for not wearing masks, and a total of Rs.7,31,34,300 lakhs collected from them as fine by the police. 823 people have violated the curfew and breach of declaration.
The Police Commissioner appealed to the citizens of Vadodara to wear masks compulsorily and maintain social distance to prevent the spread of Covid 19 and to co-operate in enforcing the curfew. The drive will continue by the police to ensure strict enforcement of Covid 19 guidelines.
