Employees at the Sayaji Hospital’s attached medical college have gone on strike in protest over the contractor’s non-payment of salaries for the past two months, as well as inconsistent salary payments each month. They’ve been on strike for the second day and say they’ll keep going until their problems get resolved.
D.J. Nakrani and M.J. Solanki have been providing manpower to the Sayaji hospital for years, and many of the contract employees have been with the hospital for many years.
“We haven’t received salaries for the past two months, making it tough to support our family. Class one and two get their pay on time, but we don’t. We demand that we get paid on time, just like the rest of the workers, or we will go on strike.” one of the employees, Vibhuti, stated.
