Vadodara Cong staged a demonstration in support of farmers’ movement

Demonstrations were organized by the Congress Pradesh Samiti today all across Gujarat in support of the ongoing farmers’ movement in Delhi. The Vadodara City Congress Committee also staged a demonstration at the Vadodara Collectorate in support of the farmers’ movement.

A large number of city functionaries, MLAs as well as activists were present at the Collectorate with banners and placards in support of the farmers. They chanted slogans against the current BJP government and put allegations for being anti-people.

Congress President Prashant Patel said that the anti-farmer bill should be canceled, and it is a grave matter that farmers are being lathi-charged. Today they submitted an application to the Collector to approach the Prime Minister that a beneficial bill should be brought to the farmers otherwise, they will continue with their agitation. It may be mentioned here that Punjab-Haryana farmers have been agitating on the Delhi border for the last seven days.

The Gujarat Congress has now also given its support to the farmers’ movement that started against the agricultural law. Not only that, from December 4, the Congress has decided to hold demonstration at the district headquarters of the state to oppose the agriculture bill. It may be mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had earlier decided to make a one-day tour of Gujarat to oppose the bill but the entire program was cancelled.

Now, once again, the Gujarat Congress has declared its support for the Delhi Farmers’ Movement. Congress supporters will hold demonstrations in every district headquarters. They have demanded that the Central Government accept the demands of farmers and cancel the agricultural law.
