After the Pulwama terror attack, there has been no dearth of the amount of love that citizens of India have shown to the bereaved families of the martyred jawans.
Even married couples from all over India are donating the money they would have used for a wedding for the families of the jawans. A couple from Vadodara followed the same ideology — Mahesh Chauhan and Dipika Chauhan made changes to their wedding ceremony on Sunday.
The usual Bollywood numbers to be played in their wedding procession were replaced by a slew of patriotic songs. The guests in their marriage party held tricolor flags instead of the usual singing and dancing.
The couple also decided that whatever chandla they get in their wedding will be donated to the bereaved CRPF families. Dinesh Viras, the groom’s father said that it was because he knew what it was like to live in a slum. The groom doubles up as a rickshaw driver and supervisor at the Vadodara Central Jail and the bride Dipika Chauhan is an orphan who was raised by her grandmother.
But the wedding still had a few hiccups. Instead of the 700 invited people who were invited to turn up at the wedding, a staggering 1700 showed up. But the groom father remarked that the wedding went on smoothly because of the support they had garnered from everyone.
