Vadodara Police is on a major drive to eradicate the illegal trading and usage of drugs in the city. While they conducted a mega raid at ten different locations last week, the cops have recently nabbed the owner of Shivali Medical situated in Nava Yard area of the city for selling a cough syrup containing an addictive drug – Codeine – without prescription.
Based on a tip off, Vadodara Crime Branch reached Shivali Medical and caught two persons for buying the cough syrup without a doctor’s prescription and bill receipt. The raid was conducted in presence of a Drugs’ Inspector and 43 bottles of the cough syrup were seized.
More so, along with the two buying the cough syrup, the owner of the medical store, Umesh Kundanlal Kabra has also been detained.
Further investigation in the matter is underway.
