Vadodara gives an unforgettable tribute to the martyrs with Paramveer Run

 

The Paramveer Run is taking place in Vadodara city at 5 am tomorrow morning at Akota Dandia Bazaar Bridge to commemorate Martyrs’ day.

The NCC is organizing this marathon to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack and the soldiers who lose their lives defending our country. What makes 23rd March even more special is the that it is the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru.

While the 5km run is free and open to all, around 110 people have registered for the 10km run. All the proceeds collected will go to the Paramveer foundation, a charitable trust that looks after the interests of men in the military and paramilitary forces.

Some of the guests of honour include Mr Maninder Jeet Singh Bitta, Chairman of All India Anti-Terrorist Front, who was attacked several times by terrorists and due to his courageous escape from the attacks, he is well known as Zinda Saheed.

Another important chief guest is Air Commodore Surendra Singh Tyagi who holds a record for highest number of MIG-21 Flights! In his service, he has gained expertise in flying 30 aircrafts.

Other guests of honour include the father of the Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra PVC who was a hero in the Kargil war and the father of Lt. Kiran Shekhawat, the first woman naval officer to die in harness. Also Abhishek Gautam, a man who wears names of martyrs on his body will be attending the run.
