Starting Monday, the “Atal Swachhta Abhiyan” began in the presence of Mayor Keyur Rokadia, Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, and other authorities as part of the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. The campaign will take place in Vadodara from 6th to 25th December.
Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan has started a cleanliness campaign to make the city of Vadodara cleaner. The campaign began on Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s death anniversary on 6th December and will run till 25th December, Atal Behari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
This campaign is unique in each of Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s 19 Electoral Wards, where one full day will be administered for the campaign. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s machinery, personnel, and officers would work together to clean the entire ward in a single day.
Special clean-up operations to be conducted in schools, gardens, vegetable markets, and places of worship throughout the campaign. To make this campaign a success, a social link has been created, where individuals may contribute information and photographs about how to eliminate waste from their neighborhood.
On Monday, Mayor Keyur Rokadia, Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, Standing Committee Chairman Dr. Hitendra Patel, and other city officials took up the brooms and symbolically started the campaign by picking up trash in the city’s Mandvi neighborhood. They all committed to cleaning up the city and raising public awareness.
