In the last two months, the Labour Department Office has registered 30,000 unorganized laborers as the Central Government decided to issue e-shram cards to the unorganized workers to assure social security to them so that they can avail advantages of an insurance scheme.
Unorganized workers include domestic workers, self-employed workers, or salaried workers according to section-2 of the Unorganized Labour Social Security Act,2008. Common service center registers the e-labor card. C.M of Gujarat, Mr. Bhupendra Patel has set an aim to provide assistance to the people who are benefiting from this scheme within 100 days. E-labour cards are daily reviewed by district collector Mr. R.D Barad.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Ashish Gandhi quoted, “In the last two months alone, 30,000 workers have been registered by conducting 190 camps”.
To avail this scheme any working person can get the benefit of the card as a self-employed laborer.
Anyone under this criteria can be easily benefitted from this scheme and based on this it is likely to be associated with another scheme in future.
