Navratri is starting from 17th October. Garba has been completely banned by the government to control the global Corona pandemic. Vadodara City Police Commissioner also issued guidelines to ensure that the ban imposed on Garba by the government is not violated in Vadodara.
Joint CP Chirag Koradia said that as per the guidelines of the government, playing Garba has been banned anywhere, including pols, societies, party plots, garba grounds. Only statues can be installed and Aarti must be completed within the time limit of 1 hour. The limit of persons is 200.
Police permission is not required to install mataji idols in societies and pols but setting up statue in public place will need permission of the Police Station in their respective area.
Appealing to the people of Vadodara he said that it is necessary for the people to cooperate by strictly following the guidelines of the government and the city police system. This is in the interest of everyone’s health and people must maintain social distance and follow the guidelines of government and help the police to celebrate the festival with safety.
The Vadodara city police has planned to make adequate arrangements for the Navratri festival. However anyone found to be violate the rules will be strictly punished as per the law.
