A case was registered against a constable of Manjalpur police station after he was found to be involved in corruption and extortion of money from a Mumbai resident. He was accused of forcibly taking cash, a smartwatch, and a mobile phone from the youth after he was caught carrying liquor bottles in his car.
The constable identified as Ramesh Galsar found two liquor bottles from inside the car and instead of registering the case he was accused of taking bribes and liquor bottles from the Mumbai youth.
As per details the complainant Amit Kumar is a Mumbai-based consultant who had left for Udaipur in the month of November and decided to stay in Vadodara hotel for a night. He was stopped by the policeman on the way passing from Chapad village. They checked the car and found two liquor bottles and said to file a case.
The accused Ramesh Galsar has been booked under the Prohibition and Prevention of Corruption Act.
