Vadodara Rural LCB and SOG conduct a long-drawn investigation to nab gangsters from UP

Vadodara rural LCB and SOG, under the jurisdiction of Waghodia Police Station, caught two members of the notorious gang from Uttar Pradesh involved in firing and robbery at Deepmangal petrol pump in Bhaniyara village.

On April 10, 2021, three unknown youngsters, on a motorcycle, came to the Deepmangal petrol pump, barged in its office, threatened the complainant and other employees with pistols, and beat them with pipes. They, then, stole Rs. 27,000, fired shots, and fled from the spot.

An offense was registered at the Waghodia police station against three people. The LCB and SOG teams immediately reached the spot and took note of details about the three accused. Based on the collected information, they began searching for the bike and found it abandoned two kilometers away. The SOG team inferred that the accused had stolen the bike. After checking CCTV footage from hotels, petrol pumps, and toll booths from Surat-Vadodara-Jarod highway, Jalil-Dahod, Alirajpur, Jhabua in MP, and UP, they found a suspicious Indica registered in UP. Upon further investigation, it was found that the car had entered UP via Dahod and MP after the crime.

Based on the findings, LCB and SOG teams reached Unnau dressed as locals. They camped at different villages and began their investigation to find the suspicious car and its users. They found that the car was used by Chandraprakash Sharma from Uchgaon Sani in the Unnau district. He, along with his friends, was reported to have been involved in various crimes in the district.

After the arrest of Chandraprakash Sharma and Atul Kumar Verma, upon interrogation, the team found that both the accused, along with their friends, Ajay Patel and Dhanraj Lodhi had reached Surat in the car. After staying there for four to five days, they headed towards UP and stole the bike from Kamrej bus depot. Then, eventually, they reached the petrol pump, looted the cash, dumped the stolen bike, and fled to their home state in the aforementioned car. While Chandraprakash Sharma and Atul Kumar Verma were arrested, Dhanraj Lodhi and Ajay Patel were on the run as of Wednesday.

Chandraprakash had also been involved in around 19 offenses in Unnau, Bighapur, Sohamram, Achalganj, Gangaghat, Banthara, and Lucknow districts. Atul Verma is also a notorious criminal and involved in various crimes registered in Unnau, Bihar, and Aashiyana Janpad Lucknow. Dhanraj Lodhi has 20 offenses registered against him, and he is also wanted in around six crimes in UP with a bounty of Rs. 25000 on him.
