Sharad Pawar, leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, announces a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Maratha Mangal Office in Vadodara’s Wadi Khedkar Falia.
The entire ceremony was conducted entirely in the Maharashtrian language; he emphasized on this occasion that because you live in Gujarat, you must respect the Gujarati language while also respecting your native tongue.
Former Union Minister Sharad Pawar was greeted warmly at Vadodara Harni Airport on Thursday morning by Shri Malhar Mahalsakant Maratha Mandal leaders Ranjit Chauhan, Shashikant Bhendale, Arvind Khair, Raosaheb Bhoite, Sai Dhekane, and others. Then, at the Maratha Mangal office in Khedkar Phalia, Sharad Pawar unveiled a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event was attended by luminaries such as Rajmata Shumbhaginiraj Gaekwad, Maharaja Samarjit Singh Gaekwad, Maharani Radhikaraj Gaekwad, as well as the organization’s president and former mayor Ranjitsinh Chauhan.
Sharad Pawar reminisced about his memories in Vadodara and mentioned that his father came to Vadodara for higher education. Vadodara’s Maharaja Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad ruled the city in a style that can be taken as learning. Vadodara hosts little and large Maharashtrian initiatives that contribute to society’s harmony.
On this occasion, Maharaja Samarjitsinh Gaekwad stated that Sharad Pawar, not Lalit Modi, should be credited for initiating the IPL. He went on to say that because Vadodara is home to a large number of Maharashtrians, it is a good idea to organize community events.
