In a bustling world where compassion knows no boundaries, the Vadodara Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) stands as a shining example of love and care for our four-legged companions. This haven for animals, nestled in Chapad, Vadodara, is now reborn with modern amenities, dedicated caregivers, and a renewed commitment to providing the best possible care.
As our faithful animal friends become an integral part of our lives, Vadodara SPCA recognizes the profound bond we share with them. This sprawling 5-acre green campus, adorned with modern facilities like a state-of-the-art operation theatre, individual cages for in-patients, a diagnostics laboratory, an X-ray machine, and even a physiotherapy center, offers a serene environment where pets and animals can find solace and healing.
With a team of compassionate caregivers and a young, enthusiastic crew, Vadodara SPCA operates around the clock, 365 days a year, offering timely and comprehensive care to animals of all kinds. Every year, this remarkable institution rescues and tends to around 10,000 sick and disabled animals, performs 2,500 life-saving surgeries, and conducts over 3,000 OPD consultations.
Vadodara SPCA is also proud to collaborate with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) in a crucial initiative: the sterilization of street dogs. This partnership ensures the safety and well-being of countless animals and is a testament to their commitment to humane animal care.
Milind Malwade, Administrator of Vadodara SPCA, shared, “VSPCA has been working tirelessly for animals for the last 35 years. We conduct the ABC program along with our rescue efforts. Our primary focus is on rescuing animals, providing them with the necessary care, and ensuring their health so they can return to their homes. Thanks to our dedicated trustees, we now have incredible infrastructure that allows us to treat a wide range of canine ailments. Our goal is to transform our facility into a multi-specialty animal hospital.”
The institution has been a driving force in advocating for responsible pet ownership and runs numerous initiatives, including vaccination drives. Vadodara SPCA has completed two anti-rabies free vaccination drives, covering over 100 stray dogs from various areas. Additionally, they encourage adoption and fostering while organizing gratitude days with donors, feeders, and animal lovers at their campus.
Pranali Kanabar, Head of Business Development & Marketing, expressed their commitment, saying, “We are working tirelessly to provide the best medical facilities and a caring environment to animals. We run many initiatives, including vaccination drives, adoption programs, and gratitude days with our supporters. Our collaboration with VMC for birth control is pivotal, with our surgeons conducting 10 to 12 surgeries per day following established protocols.”
Vadodara SPCA is home to three dedicated veterinary doctors and their skilled teams. In the Outpatient Department (OPD), pets receive treatments like medications, flu therapy, vaccinations, and deworming. The surgery section follows the Animal Birth Control (ABC) protocols, where doctors perform surgeries and sterilizations. The In-Patient Department (IPD) is responsible for the care of street dogs after rescue, monitoring their food and sanitation during their recovery.
Meet Desai, a veterinary doctor at Vadodara SPCA, shared, “Our diagnostic tools, including an X-ray machine, blood analyzers, and serum analyzers, greatly aid us in performing surgeries and providing comprehensive care for our beloved animals.”
With their unwavering dedication and advanced facilities, Vadodara SPCA continues to be a beacon of hope, providing comfort, care, and love to our cherished animal companions.
