The Food Safety Department of Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS) conducted a check at manufacturing units, malls, and shops selling bakery products like cakes and pastries, cookies in view of the upcoming Christmas festival. The teams checked in 62 manufacturing locations, shops located in different areas of the city and took 52 samples including cakes, pastries, and sent them for testing.
As per the instructions of the Municipal Commissioner, food safety teams during the last one week visited Dandia Bazar, R.C. Dutt Road, Warasia Road, Waghodia Road, Market Char Rasta, Karelibaug, Panigate, Gorwa Industrial Estate, Chokhandi, Navayard as well as Manjalpur, Makarpura GIDC, Novino-Tarsali Road, Nizampura, Gotri Road, Ajwa Road and checked in 62 bakery producing units and shops.
During the checking by the Food Safety Department, 52 samples of cakes, pastries, cookies, strawberry cakes, chocolate cakes, pineapple cakes, choco delite, red velvet, and raw material like raisins, flour, Surati butter, Kerala biscuits, chocolate pastries were taken and sent to the Corporation’s Public Health Laboratory at Fateganj for analysis. Further action will be taken after the reports are received from the laboratory. Health Officer Mukesh Vaidya said that while checking at bakery manufactured units and shops selling cakes and pastries the teams gave instructions to strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines. They also urged them to use quality material in items including cakes. The operation is aimed at ensuring that citizens get quality bakery products including cakes during the upcoming Christmas festival.
