Water Woes Resolved: Vemali Village’s 5000 Residents Get Relief

A comprehensive solution to the persistent water problem faced by the residents of Vemali village, situated within the VMSS limit, has finally been achieved. Over 5000 people can now access clean drinking water from the Mahi River, for the implementation of a water supply scheme inaugurated by MP Ranjan Bhatt and MLA Mr. Dharmendrasinh Vaghela.

The village of Vemali, located approximately 3 km north of Vadodara city, falls within the jurisdiction of VMSS. The village, along with its surrounding society area, has a combined population of around 5266 people. As part of the Vadodara North Division Juth Water Supply Scheme, covering a total of 73 villages, administrative approval was obtained on September 12, 2017, to establish an intake well in the Mahi River.

Under this scheme, Vemali village was included, and infrastructure such as an RCC tank with a capacity of 3.30 lakh liters, pumping machinery, pump room, and distribution pipelines were installed, excluding the National Highway Crossing, which remained pending approval.

Responding to the recent drinking water crisis in Vemali village, authorities prioritized the completion of the National Highway Crossing and subsequently initiated water supply through the Juth Scheme. As per the regulations, Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan will reimburse the water tax associated with the scheme.

With the successful implementation of the water supply project, the residents of Vemali village can finally bid farewell to their long-standing water woes.
