Fact Check: Will The 9 PM Event On April 5 Lead To An Electricity Grid Failure?
There have been many concerns raised on social media that the candle event at 9 PM on April 5 as per the request of the PM will bring power failure.
NO ! The lights in Hospitals and all other essential services like Public Utilities, Municipal Services, Offices, Police Stations, Manufacturing Facilities, etc will remain on. The call given by PM Modi is to just switch off lights in residences. Appeal of the PM Modi is to simply switch off the lights in homes from 9 pm to 9.09 pm on the 5th of April. There is no call to switch off either street lights or appliances like Computers, TVs, Fans, Refrigerators and ACs in the homes.

Today Dy. CM Nitin Patel clarified in Press Conference regarding same , The Indian electricity grid is robust, stable and adequate arrangements and protocols are in place to handle the variation in demand, say Dy. CM

Every night we all switch off our lights, TV, cmptr, and all electronics before we go to sleep
