World Health Day: Government is committed to operate dialysis centers in every taluka Rushikesh Patel

Speaking on the occasion of World Health Day on April 7 at Becharaji, the Health Minister said that the government is committed to setting up dialysis centers in every taluka of the state. He urged the citizens to avail maximum benefits of the PMJAY-MA card withdrawal campaign launched at Primary Health Centers (P.H.C.) and Community Health Centers (C.H.C.) across the state from today till April 15.

In order to make the celebration of World Health Day meaningful, various health-oriented initiatives were launched by the state health department at Bahecharaji in the presence of Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel. Under this, Health Minister handed over “TB Harega Desh Jitega” to eradicate TB in the state by fulfilling the determination. Statewide implementation of “Preventive Therapy” has been started. Inaugurating the statewide implementation of this preventive therapy, the Minister said that PM Modi has decided to eradicate TB from the country by the year 2025. As a part of this TB prevention therapy has been started in various states of the country to protect the families of TB patients from TB infection.


By implementing this therapy in Gujarat also, TB. Sincere efforts have been made to eradicate it. The Minister also inaugurated 11 new Dialysis Centers to further strengthen Gujarat’s initiative of “One State One Dialysis”. Now that these dialysis centers are operational, the number of dialysis centers run by the  Gujarat Dialysis Program has increased to 40. The government has planned to set up a dialysis center in a radius of 50 to 60 km in the state. The Minister expressed the view that the facility of dialysis center would be a boon for the patients who are suffering from kidney-related ailments and are in need of dialysis.

The fact sheet of Global Youth Tobacco Survey-4 (GYTS-4) Gujarat-2019 was released by the Minister with the aim of reducing the prevalence of tobacco or smoking addiction among the youth of the state and making the youth free from addiction and participating in nation-building. Under the survey conducted in this fact sheet, efforts will be made by the state government to motivate the youth of the state towards de-addiction through its effective implementation. Minister of State for Health Nimisha Suthar joined the program virtually from Lunawada in the Mahisagar district. Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel interacted with the patients availing of dialysis services and got their feedback. At the hands of the Minister, the best performing servicemen in COVID-19 were honoured. MLA Karasanji Solanki, District Panchayat President  Prahlad Parmar, District Development Officer Om Prakash, Leading of Mehsana District and Bahucharaji Taluka, Health Department officials were also present in the program at Bahecharaji.
