Thalassemia is a deadly disorder and anyone could fall prey to it, including you. The Wishing Factory, an 80G-ISO certified (ISO 9001:2015) not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to improving and enriching the lives of young, underprivileged Thalassemia warriors in India. These warriors are fighting a blood disorder that, if not dealt with through professional medical help, can reduce life expectancy, impact physical growth, and create bone deformities and need blood transfusions every 2-4 weeks for their survival.
The ultimate objective of The Wishing Factory on this 8th of May, i.e World Thalassemia Day, is to make sure you and your family remain safe from this disorder and join us to work towards the vision of a थैलेसीमिया मुक्त भारत. Mr.Rajesh Thakur, Chairman of The Wishing Factory and father of Partth Thakur, a Thalassemia major and founder of TWF, has vowed to carry forward the baton left by his son who founded the organization but unfortunately is no longer with us, to make sure no more kids in India suffer from the same fate. The blood transfusions and medications are something that can be prevented and no one should have to go through.
To further advocate for removing thalassemia from the roots, The Wishing Factory has been trying to establish a collaboration with The Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) which would mandate the testing and screening for Thalassemia for all the families planning a child (in the planning process as well as all the pregnant women).
Awareness about Thalassemia is the first and largest step to eradicating it.
