“You are a sensitive CM, give oxygen and Remdesivir to hospitals, people have to buy in black”, said BJP MLA in a letter to CM

Ketan Inamdar, BJP MLA from Savli in Vadodara district, has written a letter to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani seeking supply of oxygen and Remdesivir in rural hospitals. He also requested to take back the decision to stop supply of oxygen after dividing the Vadodara city and Rural hospitals into categories. In addition, he also mentioned in the letter about the black marketing of remedisivir injection.

In a letter to CM Rupani, Ketan Inamdar said that the BJP government in Center and Gujarat are doing an important job in the current corona pandemic, which includes public awareness campaign about safety measures and vaccination. But at present the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has stated in a notification to stop the supply of oxygen to certain urban and rural hospitals by dividing them into categories.

He further said that discussions are underway to reduce the number of beds in hospitals. Oxygen beds have been prepared at Savli and Desar by the government and charitable organizations. He questioned about other preparations going on. He raised a point that already oxygen was given less in rural areas and if it stops then what about the patients. He strongly opposed the decision.

He said in the letter, “You are a sensitive Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat. Take this matter seriously and take a decision.” Vadodara is located in the center of the city-district, due to which patients from the surrounding districts are also brought here, and the decision is going to make the situation very serious in future.

In addition, the pandemic has slowly spread at the village level. Social events (weddings) were not held last year because of Corona. This time at present social occasions are being held and there’s a lot of movement of people in the area and that leads to the risk of infection. It is therefore necessary that a lockdown or any corresponding decision be taken in order to break the chain of this epidemic.

He further said that at present Covid centers and hospitals are functioning in Vadodara City and rural areas and considering the situation more Covid hospitals have been started at the village level also. Individuals who test positive for COVID have great difficulty in getting Remdesivir injections. The relatives of the patient are informed by the hospital for injection. So they have to suffer hard without knowing and eventually buy injections by giving more money in black to save a member of their family.

Finally, he said in the letter, “As people’s representative, I request and urge you to reverse the decision as soon as possible about dividing the hospitals into categories and provide oxygen and Remdesivir injections to the Vadodara district”.
